ccrypt software package provides secure encryption and decryption of files and streams, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ccrypt
ccrypt is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ccrypt package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ccrypt *
You will get with ccrypt package name, version, architecture and description in a table
